Big names confirmed for 2021 Lazer Canadian CX Nationals

With only 2 weeks to go to the 2021 Lazer Canadian Cyclocross Championships, some notable names are making their appearance on the start lists.

Craig Richey - Since 2008, Craig has been a fixture of Canadian Cyclocross, having competed in National and International racing, and consistently placing in the top 10 in past Elite National Championships throughout his 10 year career. As a proud family man, Craig has returned to racing as Masters racer and, proving that parenthood doesn't have to slow you down.

Geoff Kabush - While Geoff may downplay his influence on Canadian Cycling, especially in MTB & Cyclocross, there is no question that he has garnered legendary status in the sport with 5 National CX Championships under his belt. At the mature age of 44 years old, Geoff has not conceded to father time and will be lining up with the Elite Men once again to prove that age is just a number.

Maghalie Rochette - Maghalie is currently Canada's highest world ranked cyclocross racer (11th Place) and is 2nd overall in the USCX Cyclocross Series with recent victories at Kings CX, Charm City, and Rochester. She is a 3 Time Canadian National Cyclocross Champion and looking to secure her 4th Title in Langford, BC.

Gillian Carlton - Gillian is competing in their first Canadian Cyclocross Championship. Well accomplished in racing road and track, they won bronze in the team pursuit in the London 2012 Olympics with Tara Whitten and Jasmin Glaesser. Earlier in 2012 Carleton, Whitten and Glaesser rode to the bronze medal in the team pursuit at the UCI World Championships in Melbourne, Australia. They had also won silver at the 2012 World Cup stop at the London velodrome.

Jennifer Jackson - Is one of Canada's Top XC Mountain Bike Racers and is the current reigning Canadian National XC MTB Champion. She is no stranger to cyclocross having finished in the runner up position at the 2018 and 2019 National CX Championships. With Bear Mountain, Langford having hosted past Canada Cup XC events, it is that familiarity that may give Jenn the opportunity to take her first CX National Title.

Michael Van Den Ham - Michael has elevated Canadian Cyclocross to new levels, proudly representing the maple leaf in both USCX and UCI International races over the last 11 years. He is also a 3 time National CX Champion. He has been the lone Canadian racing against the world's best in UCI World Cup's and Super Prestige races alongside mega-stars such as Mathieu Van Der Poel and Wout Van Aert.
