Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

It takes an army to put on an event of this scale. First off, we want to thank the District of Saanich for the use of Layritz Park and for being accommodating and such great hosts. In so doing we want to acknowledge the territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples represented by the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations and the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples represented by the Tsartlip, Pauquachin, Tsawout, Tseycum and Malahat Nations.

Destination Greater Victoria has been an amazing partner and we appreciate their efforts to enable and support sport tourism to the Victoria CRD.

A massive thank you to Vancouver Island Technology Park for allow us the use of their parking lot space. Thank you to Adriano and the Prospect Lake Soccer Club for allowing us of the use of the clubhouse.

Thanks to our title sponsor Lazer Sport and presenting sponsor, Trek Bicycle for continuing to be long lasting supporters of the Canadian Cyclocross Championships. Also a major thanks to the crew at Broad Street Cycles for sponsoring the inaugural Blackout CX single speed night race. We may have a new thing going here!

We couldn't have organized the event without the help from Cross on the Rock who graciously allowed us to use their equipment to create an epic course. Thanks to Drew Mackenzie who took the lead as course architect and with the help from our Crossclub leaders, Kelly Guest and Peter Wellsman.

Thank you to Cycling Canada for giving us the opportunity to host such an epic National Championship event and for sending down the whole events team to support us.

Thanks to Cycling BC for allowing the use of their event equipment, hosting Hop On for Kids and supporting the event through race officials and staff.

Thanks to Tripleshot Cycling Club who provided help with volunteers and also for supporting local youth cycling development through the efforts of head coach Lister Farrar.

Thanks to Capital Bike for providing Bike Valet Services and to velofix for being there for last minute repairs.

So many local volunteers took time to help us in so many areas: setup and teardown the course, marshal the crossing areas, help with registration/package pickup, selling beer tickets, monitor the pit area, provide onsite overnight security, race announce, pick up / drop off equipment, and awards presentations.

As with events that are of this scale, we always strive to do our best, look forward to constructive feedback, and aim to make next year's event even better. If you have any ideas on what we can do to improve our event for 2023, email us at info@bearcrossgrandprix.com.
